“Temple of the tooth relic” is another name for Dalada Maligawa. It has the relic of the tooth of the Lord Buddha which is so important and valuable for Buddhist people. This is located in Central province inside a city named Kandy. The relic holds a significant role in Sri Lankan politics because it is believed that whoever holds the relic holds the authority of the country. This was the last kingdom of Sri Lankan kings and Kandy is a world heritage site mainly due to Sri Dalada Maligawa located there. Once a year Temple is organizing a Perahara program by giving a chance to the Whole Island people to worship the tooth relic with some wonderful traditional events on the road.
